Research Project: Boer War

My topic is the South African Boer War. It all starts off with my research question, how has the war affected South Africa? The war was fought in South Africa in the 1800/ 1900s between the South African "Boer Republic" and Great Britain. A lot of my research is o he forgotten people and how they were affected.      The war affected a lot of forgotten South African men and women. The war is very important to the shift and changes that South Africa has gone through. It isn't a very popular war, but it is definitely significant. Tens of thousands of people dies in concentration camps under British command and thousands of others suffered. South Africa will never be the same after this war.

ATDPTI

I don't like reading, but this book is alright. I'm not gonna lie, all of the visuals on the pages help me stay more focused on the book because I got distracted easily. This book is a good way to help me understand the book because I am a very visual learner.      The book reminds me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid because it loos like a notebook/ journal. I also like that aspect of it. This book is also kind of funny. I like to see how Arnold sees the world and his thoughts. I'm excited to continue reading this book.

Free Post: Cold or Hot Weather

I like the cold weather we have been having a little bit because it feels good sometimes. But I'm kind of getting tired of it. I miss the summer and warm weather. Cold weather can suck a lot sometimes and hot weather is just so much better. I only like cold weather for a short period of time.      One good thing about cold weather is that we have had days off of school because of it so I'm not complaining. But the warm weather is still my favorite because it feels better and being outside is more fun. You can do more things in the hot weather. But it seems like it gonna be cold for a while.

Research

My research has been going well. My topic is the South African Boer War. I've been doing pretty well with relating my source with my research question. I'm excited to move on with this project. But, I still have questions.      I need to know how my teachers feel about my work. Do my sources really support my topic and question strong enough? Do I have a good research question? Are my sources consistent? I think I am doing pretty well in all of these sections, but I feel like my work should just be a little bit stronger.

Living and Being Alive Emma P

You can see a difference between living and being alive. Being alive just means that you are on this earth and haven't died yet. Living can mean that you do fun stuff that you enjoy everyday. I think a lot of people hold back on doing fun stuff because they worry a lot or are too scared to have fun. If you just live step by step, life can be great.      Some people ,on the other hand, make everyday fun or adventurous. They don't worry about this worst outcomes in every situation. I think that is good because it makes people happy which causes for a healthy life. It's important that you live in stead of just existing.

New Semester

In the fall semester I learned a lot. I obviously matured a lot as a high schooler. I didn't make the best grades because I am still adapting to high school. In this next semester I  am going to work harder and try to make better grades. High school has taught me how to manage my time better and how to know when to work hard.      This next semester I want to learn how to work hard and study more in a more efficient way. I need to get rid of the habit of constantly being on my phone. It is a bad habit of mine. Hopefully this semester I can do better. I plan to make all As and do well on my exam. Good luck everyone.
