Hurricane Katrina Response

     In my years of living in Louisiana, I have of course heard all about Hurricane Katrina. I knew it was horrible and affected New Orleans in a big way. But, this article taught me so much more. Hurricane Katrina was a very dangerous and effective hurricane. It accounted for 100 billion dollars in damage and left a lot of innocent people to either die, evacuate, or stay at home and wait it out. Thousands of people were effected and desperate for shelter, food, and water. Although we came together as a community to help, the government wasn't quite prepared...

     This is the part I did not know. At the time, George W. Bush was president. Him and the government didn't understand how bad this hurricane was. It took days for FEMA to respond and help our people. Hopefully we have learned from this hurricane to always be prepared for any natural disaster.

    Nick, I think that this is a very accurate and well-thought out response. I was living in New Orleans when Katrina hit, and although I don't remember much, I feel like this is a great summary of the disaster. Great job!

     As I grow older and the years go by, I notice more and more how good I have it. My parents have worked really hard to give me the life I have. I am grateful for the fact that I am able to go to an extremely expensive and great private school, a thing a lot of kids can't say. I have always gone to private schools with good education and staff, making my learning experience better than a lot.      Another thing I am grateful for are my friends and family. Anytime I need people to hang out with or talk to I can go to my friends and family. They are both always there for me no matter what. Imagine how boring life would be without friends. Strengths and Challenges

     As writers, we all have our strengths and challenges. From quotations to organization, people do some things well and they do others bad. As a writer his year I've noticed that I am pretty good at coining together quotations, citing them correctly with the write format, and using the most effective quote I can. I noticed this in the research paper when I had my conference with Dr D. She said that I embedded my quotes really well and that I used pretty effective quotes as well. But, I didn't have the greatest feedback on everything...      One thing I struggled with as a writer this year is my organization. I haven't always been able to put all my thoughts onto a paper while also being able to organize them correctly and put everything in the right spot. Back to my research paper, I didn't put all of my categories in the most effects spots possible for them. I didn't coin them together super well, which was a problem. Free Post: Thanksgiving Day

     One of my favorite times of the year, Thanksgiving. My day started off with waking up to the smell of turkey and all kinds of other foods. I went downstairs into the kitchen where my mom was cooking. She made me go back upstairs because I had to take a shower and get dressed and stuff. When I came back down I talked to my family and watched football until dinner was ready.      As the day went by, my God Family visited to come spend the day at our house. We ate and then sat around the table and talked. Then we played some bored games and chilled. We watched more football and caught up with each other. It was a great day.
