Purple Response
So far I've enjoyed reading Purple Hibiscus. One character I've found interesting is Papa. He seems like a good character at first. He is very religious, demands respect from his kids, and he cares about his family. But, not everything is as it seems.
Papa is a very abusive, overly-competetiv guy. He has created a tyrannical house and intimidates his whole family. He killed a baby and constantly hits his wife, instilling fear in his family. No one in the family corrects his acts because they are too scared to do so. We'll see what happens over the course of the rest of the book.
