Gun Control
Gun Control-
Political Events Article
I read an
article written by David Brooks from New York Times titled “Respect First, Then
Gun Control.” He basically emphasizes throughout the article that rioting and
marching is not the way to initially end gun violence. He states that we need
to respect one and other first and that we trust each other with guns and show
respect to gun owners. He also agrees with the fact that we need to stop
stereotyping each other (reds and blues/ republicans and democrats) and that we
need to come together and clear air to avoid more conflict.
Personally< I totally agree with
Brooks. I think we need to learn to trust each other with our guns before we
even talk about gun rights. We need to come together and understand both sides
so we can come up with a solution to this problem while we continue to respect
each other. If we just march, hold up signs, and argue literally nothing will
be accomplished. It’s about time we come together, that’s what America is
about…
I chose this
article mainly because I find the authors’ ideas to be completely valid and
reasonable. I totally agree with what he says. With the recent school shooting
in Florida, it made me think about my topic on gun control. So, I decided to go
to a much-considered credible source (The New York Times) and go further into
this. I enjoyed this process.
I agree with you that we should stop the riots and consult with each other to come up with a solution to end this conflict. I also agree that unity is what America is all about and this conflict is keeping up from that.
ReplyDeleteI also think we should respect others and that will ultimately end to gun violence in the future. Wonderfully explained, great post!
ReplyDeleteYou made very strong points that support your topic. People should just trust each other with guns than jump to conclusions. You did a great job of describing each point the author made and backing it up with your own beliefs.
