Mint Snowball
One of the narratives we read in class was Mint Snowball by Naomi Shibab Nye. It was about her great grandfathers mint snowball recipe that was a prized possession throughout her family's existence for the past few generations. Throughout the book, I noticed how skilled Naomi is with description. For example, "The Mint Snowball tasted like winter." This helps the readers relate to her the best and almost puts us in her shoes.
At the end of the book, Naomi uses rhetorical questions in a great way. She uses them as a relation to her life and the snowball. It kinda serves as a cliff hanger for the reader and leaves us wondering. That is a good feature to her narrative.
